Sounds of Dry Leaves (For Print)

I have turned the experience of the sound machine into a narrative in story form free writing and created paths where the text is in horizontal form and has to be read across pages to follow through with the wandering concept: sensitivity and mindful focus that the installation concept creates.

Attached to this, is a 3D model of the sound machine, with photography lighting in blue/pink to support the outcomes of the experience.

Moving towards the publication, I have decided to further my research on the sonic domain, where I explored hypersensitivity and silence that occurs in the lives of individuals experiencing isolation. In researching unique auras of sounds and the experience of suffering and hypersensitivity, I have focused on the natural elements of  the body as a device for creating sounds and ended up with the research on the sounds of dry leaves and stepping. Through interviews and research I have found another layer that is aliveness.

The sound research on leaves and listening with silence and hypersensitivity has given a lens on the presence of joy and liveliness, the perception of and the ability to create joy and liveliness. The effect of this phenomenon on relationships and the dynamics that individuals participate in, results in finding a communal space to be vulnerable and talk about what we feel in isolation.

In order to appropriate this to a print publication, I have turned the experience into a narrative in story form free writing and created paths. The text is in horizontal form and has to be read across pages to keep with the wandering concept: sensitivity and mindful focus that the installation concept creates. Attached to this is a 3d model of the sound machine, with photography lighting in blue/pink to support the outcomes of the experience.
